Next generation Airplay through Bluetooth?

According to a rumor posted over at 9to5mac.com, future versions of Airplay may work over Bluetooth. Airplay screen mirroring is one of the best new features of the iPhone 4S (especially for educators and trainers), but it is often a pain to use in educational and corporate settings. I tried using my 4S and Apple TV in class several times this semester and was never able to connect because of my school’s network settings. If these rumors turn out to be true, we may soon be able to connect via Bluetooth and avoid the hassle of connecting through WIFI all together.

The new piece of silicon will enable future wireless accessories certified for use with the iPod, iPhone or iPad to stream content to and from a host iOS device using Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, in addition to WiFi AirPlay support. AirPlay over Bluetooth mitigates the need to connect to a WiFi network when AirPlaying your music, photos and movies. This feature comes into play when traveling, for example, or using your device in areas with no WiFi connectivity.
