Spray Paint and Stencils
I’ve been interested in creating street art since I started photographing it several years ago. My interest was peaked again during a recent vacation to France where I viewed some pieces by Jeff Aerosol (you need to look him up if you haven’t seen his stuff before). After we returned home to Tennessee, I found some videos detailing the process through which Jeff creates the stencils and uses them to create his unique artwork. I bought some spray paint this weekend and decided to give it a try.
Photographing Some Old Photographs
I had a couple studio strobes and a white background setup in the basement this weekend for a small product shoot and decided to grab a few shots of some of my old photography projects.
I’ve always been interested in a photograph’s ability to tell (or suggest) a story and feel that several of these images really succeed in that area. In most of these pieces, I started with a traditional print, either silver gelatin or color, and cut the image into pieces using a knife.
