Flash: Introduction
Flash is the industry standard application for creating animations and interactivity for websites, CD presentations, educational endeavors, game design, and more. This workshop provides an overview of Flash, explains the software interface, and provides a basic understanding of how to work in Flash.
Flash: Motion Tweening
Using keyframes, motion tweens, and motion paths, Flash users can create complex animations quickly and easily. This workshop covers some of the basic animation techniques used to create Flash movies for websites and CD presentations.
Flash: Navigation
Flash action tools are extraordinarily flexible and can be used to make powerful navigation structures. Whether creating presentations from an existing PowerPoint file or building a presentation from scratch, Flash’s powerful scripting tools make it easy to create dynamic, non-linear navigation structures. This workshop builds on the material covered in the first two worshops.
Digitally Smart

Learn how megapixels and sensors relate to image quality and how to pick the camera that best suits your personal needs.
Spray Paint and Stencils
I’ve been interested in creating street art since I started photographing it several years ago. My interest was peaked again during a recent vacation to France where I viewed some pieces by Jeff Aerosol (you need to look him up if you haven’t seen his stuff before). After we returned home to Tennessee, I found some videos detailing the process through which Jeff creates the stencils and uses them to create his unique artwork. I bought some spray paint this weekend and decided to give it a try.
Dreamweaver: Web design with Dreamweaver
Favored by many web design professionals, Dreamweaver is less user-friendly than FrontPage, but it is a powerful tool for creating web pages. This workshop introduces participants to the Dreamweaver interface and shows them how to use the program to create a simple web site.
Dreamweaver: Databases and Forms
This advanced Dreamweaver workshop teaches the basics of building web pages with dynamic database-driven content and is intended for individuals already familiar with the Dreamweaver interface, HTML, and CSS.
Dreamweaver: Designing with Cascading Style Sheets
Style sheets allow web designers to more easily manage a large web site, create a unified look between web pages, separate content from design, and even create complex page designs without using tables. Participants in this workshop learn how to create, modify, and attach style sheets to web pages.
Creating PDF Documents
Learn to create PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat, a utility program that creates files (.pdf Portable Document Format) that are cross-platform and cross-media. This format was originally designed to assist publishers (including newspaper publishers) by keeping file sizes small while retaining the full layout and look of the document, including graphics, fonts, and links. The files can be optimized for print or for screen delivery.
Podcasting, Blogs and Wikis
Podcasting, Blogs, and Wikis are changing the way that we communicate with the world. This workshop provides an overview of these technologies and demonstrates the educational uses of these new forms of communication.
