Photographing Some Old Photographs
I had a couple studio strobes and a white background setup in the basement this weekend for a small product shoot and decided to grab a few shots of some of my old photography projects.
I’ve always been interested in a photograph’s ability to tell (or suggest) a story and feel that several of these images really succeed in that area. In most of these pieces, I started with a traditional print, either silver gelatin or color, and cut the image into pieces using a knife. I then reassembled the image, replacing some of the background elements with items that I found at the scene of the original photograph. You can view larger versions of the entire series on my Flickr page.
