Adobe Fireworks
Much like Photoshop, Fireworks is a graphics editing program that allows users to open, edit, and save digital images. Fireworks enables users to create animated GIF images, rollovers, hotspots, vector based graphics, and more. This program simplifies the process of creating graphics for use on the web and eliminates the need to use several image editing programs.
Macrmedia Freehand
Macromedia Freehand can be used to create impressive print, flash, or web documents. It offers layers, extensive design tools, and vector graphics tools that allow users to create high-impact documents. This workshop is an introduction to designing print-ready documents in the program.
Audio Editing
Adobe Audition is a powerful, computer-based audio editing studio. It can be used to convert audio to different formats, clean distortion and remove ambient sounds from a recording, and extract/remove vocals from a sound file. Make use of Audition’s audio filters, special effects, and pre-recorded patterns in your home recordings.
Excel: Creating Spreadsheets
In this workshop, participants are introduced to MS Excel, a spreadsheet program that allows users to organize and analyze numeric information using a grid of columns and rows. Participants learn how to create simple Excel worksheets, how to change the appearance of the worksheet by applying various formatting options, how to enter formulas into the worksheet, how to use basic formula functions within the worksheet, and more.
Excel: Charts
Simple, well-designed charts are effective communication tools. In this workshop, participants will learn how to create pie charts, line charts, and column charts from Excel worksheets.
Microsoft Producer
Microsoft Producer makes it possible to incorporate audio, narrations, PowerPoint slides, digital images, video, and more into a single multimedia file that can be distributed on a CD or uploaded to the internet.
Remote Desktop Assistance & VPN
Participants in this workshop learn how to remotely connect to a Windows XP Pro computer, download and install the client portion of the Virtual Private Network, connect to the ETSU VPN from an off campus location, and more.
FrontPage: Introduction to Web Design
This is an introductory workshop on FrontPage 2003 that demonstrates the skills necessary to create web pages using the tools and features found in Microsoft’s web publishing application.
FrontPage: Forms
This is an advanced FrontPage 2003 workshop that focuses on some of the FrontPage wizards and templates used to collect data. Participants learn how to create and modify different types of forms.
Blackboard: Introduction
In this introductory course on using Blackboard. Students are introduced to the various capabilities of the Blackboard course management system and how it can be used to facilitate online learning.
